Riven

I co-founded Riven, a startup providing document redaction software to UK policing, which was acquired in October 2024. I worked on product, engineering, design, IT and information security.

The Home Office estimates that frontline officers, detectives and staff (there are no central redaction teams) spend 770,000 hours per year redacting case files before they are sent to court in the UK. Our goal was to free up a significant amount of this valuable time spent redacting using technology.

We onboarded half of all UK police forces to our solution, DocDefender, within 1.5 years. It is incredibly inspiring that UK policing adopted innovative technology so quickly to solve a pressing issue and I hope we see much more of this.

Palantir

Prior to Riven, I spent 3 awesome years as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Palantir working across the NHS, MoD and Whitehall. I learnt a huge amount about deploying impactful software to the frontline of UK public sector. Highlights include being one of the first engineers to work on the NHS Federated Data Platform rollout and surging to support the Homes for Ukraine resettlement scheme.

Interests

I am primarily focused on how technology can support British public services. It is the only thing I have worked on professionally to date and I plan to double down on this over the coming years.

I also enjoy all things commercial aviation - aircraft, airports and airlines. From de Havilland Comet to Concorde, Rolls-Royce engines to Airbus wings, British Airways to Heathrow, the UK has been and is at the heart of global aviation. Hopefully there is lots more to come including airport expansion [1][2][3] and new entrants to the skies [4][5].

Please do reach out if you would like to discuss any of the above or anything else.
